Joint Event, May 28th-29th: DANUBIOVALNET project and EUSDR PA 8-Competitiveness

The event, held in Prague, Czech Republic, on 28 – 29 May 2019, aims to explore the future development potential for a competitive Danube Region and the role of regions, cities, clusters and companies in an increasing complex economic ecosystem. In addition, it will bring together all relevant stakeholders linked to the topics of bioeconomy, but also highlight the future role of regions in terms of providing better framework conditions for innovation and transformation. The interplay between national and regional level as well as the role of clusters to support SMEs to better cope with the upcoming challenges will be discussed.

In the DTP-financed project DanuBiovalnet, the aim is to create a desirable and sustainable bio-based economy that is respecting planetary boundaries and protecting climate and ecosystems. In addition, the project strives to facilitate eco-innovations in the bio-based industry by improving framework conditions and making better use of clusters, potential and diversity of the Danube Region.

There is a strong link to PA 8-Competitiveness of the EUSDR since setting up new value chains across regions to create new eco-innovation will improve the competitiveness of enterprises, supported by the clusters. Since SME will cooperate trans-regionally across the value chains, the project contributes to a higher degree of territorial integration and transnational investments within the Danube Region.
