Job vacancy at Danube Strategy Point Vienna (Pillar Officer)

The Danube Strategy Point (DSP) Vienna is currently recruiting a Pillar Officer (40 hrs/week).
Job objective: 
 
The Pillar Officers are responsible for external and cross-Pillar cooperation and for synergies to be exploited. Further, the Pillar Officers take care of intensifying cooperation within the Pillar priorities and organise – when needed – meetings, seminars and workshops for PAs. The Pillar Officers support the implementation of the Priority Areas through stakeholder management and engagement, conceptual-strategic development of the EUSDR governance, navigation of the EU (and beyond) funding landscape, advancing institutional memory and facilitating institutional development. The Pillar Officer based in Vienna will be mainly responsible for Pillars 1 and 4 (Connecting the Region; Strengthening the Region).
 
Key Tasks:
  • Enhancing strong cooperation and exchange of experience between PACs of each Pillar and with PACs of the other 2 Pillars, in close cooperation with the Pillar Officer based in Bucharest and in close cooperation with the DSP team
  • Elevates synergies by the cooperation of PAs and across MRS, enabling exchange of best practices
  • Support for PACs’ cooperation with funding institutions, EUSDR stakeholders, civil society and project promoters
  • Support of identifying projects and processes of strategic value and enable efficient pooling of funding
  • Strategic management of the EUSDR ‘embedding process’ (ERDF/CF, IPA/NDICI and others) by facilitating discussions between the different macro-regional stakeholder groups and funding programmes
  • Assistance for PACs (organising seminars, team building seminars, etc.)
  • Support for the exchange with other macro-regional strategies, involvement of accession countries
  • Compilation of the EUSDR Implementation Report, preparation of reports, discussion papers and other Strategy relevant documents
  • Reporting to the DSP Coordinator
 
Job profile: 
 
Conditions: 
  • University degree in relevant disciplines
  • At least 3 years of proven experience with European Cohesion Policy, especially ETC /MRS
  • In-depth knowledge of at least one Priority Area of the EUSDR
  • Proven experience in (standalone) project management, including implementation and reporting
  • Fluent in English

  • Intercultural skills to work in an international team
  • Willingness to travel regularly within the Danube Region and beyond (almost monthly) and work on a flexible schedule
  • Ability to work constantly on the improvement of office quality processes
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Time management and organisational skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent communication skills, cooperative working approach, analytical and conceptual approach
  • Creative and problem-solving oriented, interested in new learning experiences
  • Communicative, open-minded, and a good team worker
 
Terms and conditions for employment: 
  • The employment contract will be established with EU-Förderagentur GmbH (EU Funding Agency Ltd.), a company of Wien Holding GmbH, on behalf of the City of Vienna
  • Starting date: 1 April 2025
  •  A contract including a one-month probation period will be offered.
  • The employment is foreseen on a 40 hours per week basis
  • The working place is Vienna (Austria)
  • Working conditions include flexible working time (with core working time) and home-office arrangements
  • Monthly gross salary offered: minimum € 3.500,- (14-times, for 40 hours/week). The minimum salary can be adapted according to the qualifications and experiences of the candidate
