6th meeting of the Working Group on Sustainable Agriculture and Rural Development (WG SARD)

The Secretariat of the Carpathian Convention kindly asks you to save the date for the 6th meeting of the Working Group on Sustainable Agriculture and Rural Development (WG SARD). The meeting will take place on 26-27 April 2023 in Vatra Dornei, Romania.

While the agenda of the meeting is still being drafted together with the WG SARD Chair, we would like to bring to your attention that one of the discussion topics will be pastoralism. The proposed topic is related to the year 2026 declared by the United Nations as the International Year of Rangelands and Pastoralists, which could give the relevant importance to vital pastoral practices and traditions in the Carpathian region.
