Interreg Volunteer Youth and macro-regional strategies webminar

“Interreg Volunteer Youth” (IVY) is an initiative promoted by the Commission, and managed by AEBR (Association of European Border Regions), aimed at supporting Interreg programmes and projects. For a period of 2 to 6 months, programmes and projects can host a young, motivated person who can support communication activities and produce content about their activities. Since 2017, AEBR has involved over 400 young people in IVY. Previous hosts at Interreg programmes have appreciated the support they receive from the volunteers: they have helped improve communication output and assisted with the management of social media, enhancing the visibility of the programme’s achievements.

As from January 2024, this initiative will be also open to bodies that are part of macro-regional strategies working in pillars, priority areas, policy areas and action groups. You will be able to apply as a host organisation to host an Interreg volunteer in your institution. To ease participation, the application procedure is simple and quick. AEBR looks for the volunteers and matches you with the person who best suits your activities. Also, AEBR financially supports all volunteers with a daily allowance for the entire duration of the IVY placement, insurance coverage and a contribution to travel costs.
