The Project Officers handle the financial management of DSP and support the entire DSP staff in implementing their tasks. The Project Officers are also responsible for administrative tasks such as organising onsite and online meetings, managing overheads, taking care of meeting agendas, meeting minutes, supporting document drafting, proofreading, making travel arrangements, acting as an interface within the DSP team and managing the overview and progress of the deliverables of the Danube Strategy Point in Vienna.
The Project Officer located in Vienna keeps contact lists, drafts the EUSDR calendar, updates the EUSDR webpage and undertakes the tasks of the overall financial reporting. The Project Officer is supported by the internal experts for EU-Funding who are in charge of the preparation, implementation and follow-up of the whole audit procedures coming from the First Level Control and the programme bodies. The Viennese Project Officer is responsible for the overall project, office management and general support to the DSP team.
Additionally, the Project Officer based in Vienna manages the contact and supports the implementation of the Danube Youth Council within the DP and in the EUSDR. The DYC was established in 2022 as a structure for institutional involvement of young people in all EUSDR bodies to make the ideas and viewpoints of young people heard and considered. The DYC is composed of 28 members (18-29 years of age), two members from each of the 14 Danube Region countries. The Project Officer located in Vienna manages the meetings with DYC and with EUSDR bodies, organises annually the Danube Youth Camp (with external support) and serves as an interface to and from the DYC.
Key Tasks:
- Support to DSP administration and to the whole team (e.g. correspondence, e-mailing and address lists, DSP email account, arranging appointments, editing/formatting/proofreading of documents, leaflets, press releases, newsletter)
- Responsible for daily IT support of DSP staff (DSP users’ accounts, file keeping, etc.)
- Support of the accounting department
- Support and technical organisation of online and onsite events, workshops, conferences and seminars
- Updates the DSP Website and EUSDR Calendar
- Support of human resource management
- Support and organisation of staff training
- General support of all management issues
- Coordination of the setting in place and functioning of the DSP working places (telephones, mobile phones, IT equipment, furniture)
Job profile:
Conditions:
- A graduate university degree in any field of relevance to the mentioned tasks (e.g., a Bachelor’s degree in business and administration, etc.) or an equivalent qualificatio,n e.g., a secondary education degree
- Experience with European Cohesion Policy, especially ETC and EU project implementation
- Excellent English skills
- Fluent business German skills
- Background knowledge and experience in office management
- Background knowledge and experience in financial management in public administration
- Common understanding of the European Union structures and working procedures
- Solid experience with data management system/s
- Highly computer literate, especially in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and CMS (WordPress), as well as website management and online meeting software (Cisco Webex, Zoom, MS Teams)

Terms and conditions for employment:
- The employment contract will be established with EU-Förderagentur GmbH (EU Funding Agency Ltd.)
- Starting date: As of October 2025
- A contract including a one-month probation period will be offered.
- The employment is foreseen on a 40-hour per week basis
- The working place is Vienna (Austria) with the possibility to work from Home Office (working in Home Office completely from abroad is not possible.)
- Monthly gross salary offered: minimum € 3.000 (14 times, for 40 hours/week). The minimum salary can be adapted according to the qualifications and experience of the candidate.
