Invasive alien species in the Danube Region – IAS of regional concern
The aim of the Conference is to help regional policy harmonisation and discuss the related measures for the control of invasive alien species in the Danube River Basin. Furthermore, the organisers of the international conference aim to provide an opportunity for dialogue and networking between the competent ministries in the Danube Region, the European Commission, international organisations, nature conservation authorities, research institutes and non-governmental organisations. The Conference also helps to implement Action 4 of EUSDR Priority Area 6 (Biodiversity, Landscapes and Air & Soil Quality) co-coordinated by Bavaria and Croatia and contributes to the activities of the EUSDR PA 6 Danube Invasive Alien Species (DIAS) Working Group.
The event is organised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary with the professional support of the EUSDR Priority Area 6 coordination, the EUSDR PA 6 DIAS WG, the Hungarian Ministry of Agriculture, the Danube-Ipoly National Park Directorate and the HUN-REN Centre for Ecological Research.
