EUSDR PA 10 Coordination Team invites you to join the first cross-macroregional event on smart rural development in Sofia (BG) on 24 March 2026.
Under the motto ”Bridging Vision and Action: Smart Rural Development That Leaves No Region Behind” the event intends to
- discuss with you the future of (smart) rural development,
- demonstrate good practices of evidence-based decision-making, and
- share and test approaches for smart rural development.
The event will address what it takes to support successful and smart rural development and how we can bring our vision into concrete action.
What can you expect?
Participants can look forward to an interesting programme including:
- an insightful panel discussion
- interactive World Café Sessions
- inspiring good practices
- numerous opportunities for networking
- practical insights into approaches to smart rural development (from the SMART ERA project)
Who is it for?
We are looking forward to engage with representatives from
- municipalities,
- civil society organisations,
- research and universities,
- national authorities,
- European institutions,
- Macro-regional governance (national coordinators, thematic coordinators, Steering/Working Group members)

The event will be held in English language.
The event will be free of charge, but registration will be required.
