I grew up in a seaside town Bar, in Montenegro, the country where the sea is only a few hours away from the mountains. I have been living in Italy for the last 5 years and currently I am graduating student of Master’s degree at the University of Triest – Faculty of Political Science. I am concentrated on the internship that I am currently doing at the Italian Embassy in Montenegro. I have always been interested in nature and I believe that it is the greatest treasure that a territory can possess, such as the Danube Region’s nature which offer us endless possibilities. My involvement in DYC is related to Priority Area Tourism, Culture and People to People Contact, where with all my knowledge and experience I am trying to contribute to the creation of sustainable results. I believe that the key to the development of the territory is the inclusion not only of public actors in the decision-making processes, but also of citizens and especially young people. What I learned during my studies and civil involvement is that the dialogue is the starting point of every success and that cooperation initiates every progress. My intercultural experience, studying abroad and engagement in various spheres of public policy processes and EU projects have taught me that protecting our environment and working on strengthening of sustainable development, energy efficiency and environmental education, are crucial. With the mutual respect and promotion of democratic awareness, my DYC colleagues and I can contribute to the improvement of the quality of life in our Region.
