Follow-up on the 1st EUSDR Embedding Week |
| |
The EUSDR Embedding Week was held this year for the first time ever in the EUSDR to provide stakeholders with a concise and engaging platform for sharing multilevel, cross-thematic and cross-macro-regional ideas and experiences. The EUSDR Embedding Week took place from 11 to 15 July 2022 online and addressed the potential and challenges of embedding, gathering around a virtual table speakers and participants representing national and regional programmes, managing and programming authorities, EUSDR NCs and PACs, the Ukrainian EUSDR Presidency, the European Commission, TESIM, and others.
Following the series of five sessions, we provide you with information and follow-up material to the EUSDR Embedding Week, which was organised by the Danube Strategy Point. The final agenda and a summary of the event is published on the EUSDR website. Please also take a look at the EUSDR Embedding Week Review - Edition 2022, offering a comprehensive overview of the five sessions! |

From 9 May to 15 August 2022, young people (18 – 28 years) from all 14 Danube Region countries had the possibility to apply online to become members of the Danube Youth Council.
80 applications were received in total. The selection of the members and the official establishment of the DYC will follow shortly.
The embedding of youth & youth organisations from the Danube Region into the EUSDR governance aims at promoting the visibility of youth perspectives and enables the contribution of young people and youth organisations to the implementation of the Danube Region Strategy. This can bring an enriching new perspective into the Strategy, while simultaneously offering the young generation an opportunity for real impact.
The DYC shall in its role as advisory body contribute to youth related issues within the EUSDR, but also connect the youth perspective with EUSDR related thematic issues (on Priority Area level). In doing so, the EUSDR governance gains better insights into the challenges of young people and can add a stronger long-term perspective to the actions of the Strategy. |

A new printed EUSDR brochure – “Stories that make us” |
| |
We are happy to announce that the (formerly purely digital) brochure “EU Strategy for the Danube Region: Stories that make us” (in English language), developed and edited to celebrate 10 years of EUSDR implementation, has been updated and transferred into a printable version. It contains detailed information on implementation of the EUSDR, project examples, policy goals and cooperation highlights – and breath-taking pictures from all over the Danube Region!
The printed brochure will be available starting mid-September 2022 and disseminated at the Annual Forum in Košice, Slovakia. DSP will also send copies of the brochure to the EUSDR National Coordinator teams to be disseminated during the events they organise or participate in, in order to better ensure EUSDR’s visibility. |
